A Giveaway...For A Birthday

That's about the best I can do for a rhyme...
This week is birthday time for me. Typically I just idley sit by and let them pass. Not this year though. Even tho' this one is not a whole number birthday (52), nor do I have big plans, nor is it special for any one particular reason, I'm simply inclined to have a giveaway. Included in the sweet little package will be CHOCOLATE, a stack of 30 scrappy 5 inch charm squares, a stack of 30 scrappy 6 inch charm squares, a couple of orphan quilt blocks, a dish towel and a Stitchin' Post quilt pattern of which I saw a quilt using Batiks~it was stunning! There will be one other little gem made by my hand from a vintage quilt. It isn't completed yet, but you can certainly bet it will be by Friday, the 4th of September, the day after the birthday. This will be the day I pick the winner...8 a.m. bright and early mountain time on Friday. Leave a comment telling your favorite idea for gift giving or receiving, either one. Let's spread our creativity around.
It's an odd thing growing up, isn't it? When in my 20s, 30s or even 40s, I never even thought about the 50s...didn't occur to me that someday I'd be turning 52!
~~and wouldn't you know it...this kid started his Freshman year of high school today.
Take Care.~~
(U.S. residents for the giveaway only, please.)

Well happy birthday week to you!! I think you need big plans. At least put on your party pants.
I don't have a favorite idea for gift giving in general - depends on the occasion. For birthdays, I love to give gifts that last all year, like membership to a museum, or the zoo. I like to GET those, too, lol. My favorite gift was the entire set of I Love Lucy dvd's - I don't know how many times I've watched them, and they never get old!

I never thought I'd live to 50. Funny thing is, I don't FEEL 50 [most days] - in my mind, I'm still in my early 20's, lol! My oldest will be graduating this year, oh happy day.

Is it ok that I leave a comment here? You don't have to enter me in the giveaway if you don't want to. But I do hope you have a great birthday.
Gift giving is always kind of hard for me, because I always want every gift to be perfect. But one that I think is pretty good, is gift cards for newly weds. Especially dinner or movie gift cards. Because they are too poor to enjoy a nice date like that.
Final note- can't believe you got Brett to smile for a first day of school picture! Maybe HS will be good for him.

We have so much in common. A boy in his freshman year, turning 52 this year and everything else. Happy Birthday my dear friend.

Happy Almost Birthday Di! Hmmm...I guess I'd have to say that something handmade is always a favorite -- fabric never hurts either LOL!

How about candied/cinnamon almonds in a cellaphane bag tied with a cute ribbon? or homemade granola wrapped up cute the same way? Please, let one of your fabric-loving web friends win, because I would just be giving it back to you.

Um, the giveaway I want to win is still for that table runner... but it's nice that you are giving things away for your birthday. What then am I supposed to give you?

Please add me into your giveaway! My favorite thing to make for gifts... Wonder Wallets. I've probably made about 30 of those little things and given them all away. Everyone loves them!

Just so you know... I adore your daughter!!

Happy early birthday to you!! Using some quick math (in my head) I think I'll be 52 when I send my baby to high school... that makes me crazy on a number of levels!

Anyway... my very favorite gift to give is something unique and specific to the receiver. Like Nancy, it often stresses me out! But one thing that I do love to give is journals!!

Happiest of Birthdays to you, hope you have many, many more!

I just turned 53 so I know what you mean, I couldn't imagine myself in my 50's when I was younger but I'm glad I'm here. Too many quilts left to make!

What a wonderful giveaway, I would love to be entered.
